Breaking the fuel dependency
For decades, mechanical farming equipment has depended on fossil fuels, creating environmental concerns and practical barriers in remote areas where fuel is scarce or expensive. This dependency has hindered agricultural modernisation and limited the productivity of rural communities.
Ronella Group works with Dr Jonathan Wilson and Dr Toby Williams — inventors and Loughborough University lecturers — whose expertise drives the AF Track innovation: a versatile, fuel-independent agricultural solution designed for challenging environments.
The AF Track Rotavator supports diverse farming tasks and accommodates attachments including ploughs, feed shredders and interchangeable tools for a range of agricultural needs.
Learning from the field
The team recently returned from the Malawi Project, introducing the latest AF Track Rotavator development to local farmers and ensuring the technology works effectively in real-world conditions.
These initiatives strengthen community resilience by providing fuel-independent tools that enhance food security, restore dignity and enable families to build sustainable futures.
What comes next
Expansion plans target Central and Southern Africa, while South American projects in Argentina, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador are under way, with first deliveries scheduled for 2026.
